Visits

Information:

Clothing: In the bunker is always a constant temperature of about 8 - 14 degrees Celsius. Therefore you should also take a jacket with you in summer to feel comfortable.

Guided tour: The foot march to the barrier, along the road and back over a slightly ascending hiking trail takes about 10 - 15 minutes. Good footwear is an advantage.

The duration for a  guided tour trough the bunker is approx. 1 - 1 ½ hours and begins punctually, even by appointment, in front of the Beatenbucht restaurant, next to the valley station of the Beatenberg cable car.

Unfortunately the facility is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Catering: The Restaurant Beatenbucht, located directly on Lake Thun with a magnificent view of the lake and the mountains, serves light meals or snacks, as well as elegant dinners or is suitable for festive occasions.

Visit the bunker combined with a hike: A visit to the fortress can be easily combined with a beautiful hike. From Thun or Interlaken West, you have the option of taking the boat or bus to the Beatenbucht station. You will find a large car park at the Beatenbucht railway station. The hiking trail (Jakobsweg) leads directly past the bunker to Merligen, to the Beatus Caves and to Unterseen-Interlaken or up to Beatenberg.

Insurance and liability: insurance is the responsibility of the visitor. We cannot accept liability for loss, damage or contamination of valuables, clothing, shoes or other items.
